Here are some of the first armies I bought and painted when I first got into DBA. After playing a few games, I wanted to conduct a campaign, so I bought miniatures to fill out the rest of the 1066 conquest by William the Conqueror. The figures took a beating but the enjoyment was worth it. The two original armies (c1994) are the Vikings and Anglo-Danes. Closely following them were the Welsh, Normans, and Norse Irish. They have all been updated with new bases, flocking, repairs, or paint jobs. My original Normas were actually 12th century figures, so they will not be shown here until I have completed full conversion to 11th century figures. The newest figures are the Scots Isles and Highlands. Although they have benefited somewhat from some years of painting experience, they have suffered from my lack of time to paint them. Most if my new figures are now sent out for a paint job. The Scots Isles are the last figures I have personally painted.
